Hadapsar murder: Police chief promises ‘justice’ to victim’s family

Police commissioner Gulabrao Pol on Tuesday visited the family of Congress party worker Prakash Anna Narayan Jondhale (46),who was allegedly murdered in Gondhale Nagar in Hadapsar by a few local youths on July 8.

Police have arrested Viki Jadhav,Vaibhav Bhadale,Akshay Ingulkar,Shrikant Atole,Rahul Kavle,Amol Shegde and Suraj Phadke, all residents of Gondhale Nagar. The suspects allegedly attacked Jondhale with weapons when he was going home on his bike on July 8 around 10.45 pm.

The murder was the result of a past dispute between Jondhale and these youths. They had lodged cross complaints against each other at Hadapsar police station a few days before the murder.

Jondhale’s family told Pol that the suspects should be booked under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act .Jondhale had reportedly informed police that the youths had created terror in the area. His family and supporters claimed that police had failed to take preventive action against the miscreants.

Pol said a thorough investigation is being conducted and assured the family he would consider their demands.
