In the backdrop of the recent blasts on J M Road,the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Tuesday directed owners of commercial properties and religious places to install CCTVs at the entrance of their premises in a month.
The camera system should have the capacity to store recordings of one month, said Hemant Nikam,property tax assessment officer of PMC.
All the commercial buildings including malls,shops,companies,offices,halls,marriage halls,religious places should have the camera installed at the entrance gate. He said venues for exhibitions and meetings should also have the facility.
It is mandatory for the owners to install fire extinguishing facility and life saving equipment at their property. Therefore,all the buildings should have the facility for the safety of citizens during incidents such as bomb blasts and fire,Nikam added.
