Music composer Sachin of the Sachin-Jigar duo on why their latest song Dil Garden Garden ho Gaya created a flurry on Twitter
What could be common between a man drinking lassi in a Ludhiana dhaba and the recently-released song Dil Garden Garden Ho Gaya’ from the sex comedy ‘Kya Super Kool Hain Hum (KSKHH)’? It may sound strange but the song which has become a rage on Twitter within four days of its launch, has a connection to the lassi man of Ludhiana. Composed by Sachin Sanghvi and Jigar Saraiya, who also composed music for the film Shor In The City, the song has people from Anupam Kher to Karan Joharraving about it on Twitter.
We had the song situation in mind but were yet to finalise the rest. While we were in Ludhiana finishing work on Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya,we heard a man at the dhaba praising the lassi and telling the owner,Kya lassi pilaayi yaar, dil garden garden ho gaya’, says Sanghvi, recalling an incident that inspired them for Dil Garden Garden. The duo instantly knew they had their song. If a guy could feel like that after drinking lassi then two guys out to woo pretty girls would feel similarly too, adds Sanghvi.
The composer duo admit that the song makes no sense and even irritates the listener. The whole idea, they say,was to make the listeners exclaim Yeh kya gana hain? and yet have a catchy tune along with crass and whacky lyrics. The senselessness of the song that makes sense. It is not a song that any music director will be proud of,nor will it have a huge shelf life but thats exactly is the USP of Dil Garden Garden, says Sanghvi. It has just been four days and the response has been phenomenal, concludes Sanghvi.
