Former Indian cricket captain Vengsarkar gives away awards

Dilip Vengsarkar, vice-president of Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) and former Indian captain, presented awards to the winning teams and top individual performers of the IDeaS Ankur Joglekar Memorial (AJM) Inter-IT cricket tournament, 2016, at Vivanta by Taj, Koregaon Park.

KS Prashant, Managing Director of IDeaS Revenue Solutions and senior leaders from other major IT companies in the city were among those present. TCS was conferred with the championship trophy for clinching a victory over Tech Mahindra in the finals. Siddharth Mukhariya from TCS and Jagdeep Pathare from Synerzip won the awards for ‘Best Bowler’ and ‘Best Batsman’ respectively, while Gaurav Singh from TCS was adjudged the ‘Man of the Series’.

IDeaS, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Capgemini, IBM, Honeywell, Cognizant and KPIT participated in the tournament this year. The matches, which began from February 20, were played over the weekends and followed international rules and regulations of the Twenty20 format. IDeaS is also promoting the use of helmets amongst two-wheeler riders in the city through this tournament, stated a press release.
