Football coach wins first Spin-a-thon contest

Pune’s Anil Deshpande won the overall championship while 14-year-old Varad Bagul was adjudged ‘best junior’ and 64-year-old Dr Jayant Navrange won ‘best senior’ prize at Spin-a-thon,India’s first official spinning competition held in collaboration with Cadence Indoor Cycling at a mall in the city.

Pune’s Anil Deshpande won the overall championship while 14-year-old Varad Bagul was adjudged ‘best junior’ and 64-year-old Dr Jayant Navrange won ‘best senior’ prize at Spin-a-thon,India’s first official spinning competition held in collaboration with Cadence Indoor Cycling at a mall in the city.

Deshpande,a coach at Deccan XI Football Club for the last 21 years,has been spinning for the last six months at the Cadence Indoor Cycling Studio. He lifted the overall trophy after adhering to all parameters set for the event.

Class VIII student of Shamrao Kalmadi High School Varad Bagul of Status Health Club was adjudged winner in the junior category while 64-year-old Dr Jayant Navrange was declared winner in the senior category. Tejas Shinde won the best sprinter award,while Sanjay Ubhe got the best climber award.

The first-of-its-kind spinning and indoor cycling event organised by Cadence Indoor Cycling saw over 190 participants from Cadence Indoor Cycling,Kothrud,Satara Road,Status Health Club,Gravity Fitness Club,Gold’s Gym,Kothrud,and Law College among various clubs in the city.
