On Saturday,eight-year-old Muskan Mirpuri was in for a surprise when her beloved toon star Shinchan visited her. Muskan is the winner of Hungama TV’s ‘Are you Shinchan’s biggest fan?’ contest. She,along with 10 of her best friends,spent an enjoyable afternoon with Shinchan,playing games and celebrating her win. They also received the channel’s branded merchandise like crayons,notebooks,pencil sets,t-shirts,boxers and so on. For the contest,participants were required to answer five questions. Muskan quipped,”Many of my friends are huge Shinchan fans and we all participated in the contest. I feel so lucky that I won. It’s like a dream come true and I could not have asked for a better prize than meeting Shinchan in my house! I am the most popular girl in class now!”

Laugh Out Loud

A laugh riot all along. That’s the fitting description for Ashvin Gidwani Productions’ play Get Rid Of My Wife which was staged at the Hyatt Regency Pune on Saturday evening. The evening began with cocktails and conversations. As the curtain was raised,the eager audience readied itself for an hour of humour. The plot – how three friends,one visually challenged,one hearing impaired and the other speech impaired,avoid their creditors’ wrath by agreeing to kidnap a man’s wife. The cast – Balvinder Singh Suri,Jayesh Thakkar,Paritosh Painter,Delnaaz Irani,Nasir Khan,Kishwar Merchant and Nilanjana Singh – wowed the audience with their comic timing. The play has been directed by Painter. Kudos to the team for a super performance. Spotted enjoying the play were Senior Supreme Court lawyer Ram Jethmalani,actresses Kimi Katkar Sheorey and Divya Shah,and Nikhil and Richa Agarwal among others. The evening ended with a sumptuous buffet spread.
