On Thursday,State Urban Development Minister Bhaskar Jadhav had assured 15 TMC water supply to Pune. With the city already drawing 14 TMC,the addition would help the growing population,the minister had said. He had said this while replying to a question raised by city MLC Deepti Chaudhari in the legislative council. The minister said that Pune gets water from Khadakwasla dam through canal which leads to water seepage and wastage. He had said a direct pipeline would help in avoiding the wastage. Answering a query,the minister said Pune draws 30 per cent of its water from Khadakwasla dam through canal,wastage should be prevented and the civic administration should implement metered water supply system. He also stated that work of Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) to treat 6.5 TMC will help the city deal with water crisis.
