Defence Diary: South African delegation visits NDA

A four-member South African National Defence Force delegation visited National Defence Academy recently.

PUNE: A four-member South African National Defence Force (SANDF) delegation visited National Defence Academy recently. The delegation was led by Chief of Human Resources Division of SANDF Lt Gen Themba M Nkabinde. The other members included Col Jan IC Vermaak (HR Practitioner,SANDF),Captain Goitseone G Sebogodi (PA of CHR) and Col Brain C Bruiners (Defence Advisor,South African High Commission,New Delhi).

The delegation studied the training process at NDA and held discussions with the Officiating Commandant of NDA. The delegates hoped that the relation between the two countries will improve. The visit was part of an effort to increase bilateral ties between the two countries and to familiarise with the functioning of the Academy as well as to study the processes adopted at the NDA.

XXIV Advisory Council Meeting at INS Shivaji

PUNE: The XXIV Advisory Council Meeting of Cat ‘A’ Technical Training Institutes of the Tri Services was held at INS Shivaji. The meeting was chaired by Dr V K Saraswat,scientific advisor to the Defence Minister. The event was attended by 31 senior officers from Army,Navy,Air Force and distinguished DRDO scientists including Station Commander (Lonavla),Commodore (Dr) PJ Rangachari. The meeting is conducted every year to review the training of Tri Services and to enhance the quality of the training imparted. The last XXIII Advisory Council Meeting was held at Army Air Defence College,Gopalpur on October 29,2010.
