Fraud of Rs 46.2 lakh at Kajree Saree Centre,2 employees booked

An offence of cheating and forgery was registered against two employees of Kajree Saree Centre at Laxmi Road for allegedly duping the shop to the tune of Rs 46.2 lakh.

Shop owner Surendra Jivraj Jain (47),lodged a complaint at the Vishrambag police station and cops have booked Jahrul Islam Chowdhary (21) of Sangamwadi and Zakir.

Police said the suspects,who were employed from July 2012 to March 2013,allegedly stole the cheque books of bank accounts jointly held by complainant and his brother Manoj Jain.

The suspects allegedly forged their signatures and transferred the money in their names.

Chain-snatching case registered at Lohegaon

A youth on a motorcycle allegedly followed and snatched a gold chain of a woman identified as Nilam Pavankumar Mishra (32) of Vayu Sainik Nagar,Air Force Station in Lohegaon,around 7.45 pm on April 6 and fled. Mishra lodged a complaint at the Vimantal police station.

Man arrested for molesting daughter

A 33-year-old man was arrested by Lonavala police for allegedly molesting his daughter at their residence in Tungarli. The incident took place Saturday. Police arrested the suspect following a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother. Police said the suspect allegedly molested his daughter around 10.30 pm at his residence.
