The Yerawada jail authorities on Monday submitted to court that gangster Sharad Mohol should be moved to Taloja jail as he was proving a nuisance for the Yerawada prison authorities and faced threat from rival gangs. Following the submission,Special Judge S P Tawde granted them permission to shift Mohol to the high-security Taloja prison.

According to jail officials,Mohol, who is also an accused in the sensational murder of alleged Indian Mujahideen operative Qateel Siddiqui, was not abiding by the prison rules and was having frequent fights with other inmates.

He,according to the submission, had also had a heated argument with the jail superintendent on May 7. Also, said the authorities, members of many rival gangs were lodged in the same jail and there was a chance of violence breaking out between the two groups.

The judge considered the promise made by jail authorities that Mohol could be made to attend the proceedings in the Siddiqui murder case through video-conferencing and granted the permission.
