The Guinness Book authorities last week approved the college event held in November last year where as many as 3,248 participants, including students, alumni and staff among others, were involved in solving Rubik’s Cube.

The mega event titled Sakshat has been registered as Guinness World Record under the category ‘Most People Solving the Rubiks Cube’,a release issued by CoEP said.

The CoEP already has two Guinness World Records under its belt. In 2006,the CoEP for the first time entered the records for Most People Skipping on a Single Rope, which is still intact. In 2008,the college again achieved the feat for Longest Painting by Numbers.

By creating the world record for Rubik’s Cube,CoEP has surpassed the Indian Institute of Technology,Bombay which held the record since March last year. On Monday, students and others involved in success of Sakshat were awarded certificates in the presence taekwondo champion Sidhu Kshetri.
