C-DAC,IMA ink MoUs for infra,research

The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) and Institute of Mathematics and Applications (IMA),Odisha, signed an MoU on Monday for a collaboration on High Performance Computing.

The MoU was signed by Professor Swadheen Pattanayak,Director,IMA, and Goldi Misra,Group Coordinator and Head,HPC Solutions Group,C-DAC,Pune,on behalf of their respective institutions.

The IMA is focused on conducting advanced research in pure and applied mathematics to provide postgraduate education leading to Masters and PhD in Mathematics,computational Biotechnology,Image Processing,Cryptography and Computational Finance,exploring the applicability of mathematical ideas and research in various disciplines of mathematical studies.

Speaking about the tie-up,Professor Swadheen Pattanayak said,“I am happy to announce that the Institute of Mathematics & Applications in association with C-DAC is going to have its own large scale state-of-the-art HPC infrastructure,which will cater to research and computing requirements in Mathematics,Bioinformatics,Computational Finance,Atmospheric Sciences,Cryptography,Image and Signal Processing”.

Dr Hemant Darbari ,Executive Director,C-DAC,Pune,said,“It’s an honour that C-DAC’s HPC skills shall complement the expertise of IMA in the field of pure and applied mathematics. We have no doubt that this partnership will lead to empowering the researcher to navigate through current challenges and compete on a level playing field with the global community. We would like to see both the institutions complement each

other in research and scale heights of knowledge
