Business diary: Uth Kranti Awards for five youths

Indira Group of Institutes on Tuesday announced Uth Kranti Awards had been instituted with an aim to encourage and recognise the efforts of youth toiling effortlessly to bring about a change in the society.

Indira Group of Institutes on Tuesday announced Uth Kranti Awards had been instituted with an aim to encourage and recognise the efforts of youth toiling effortlessly to bring about a change in the society. The awards comprise a fellowship of Rs 1.25 lakh and a citation,said founder and chairperson Tarita Shankar and group director Prof Chetan Wakalkar . “We will evaluate the success of this year’s awards and may make these awards an annual feature. This year,five youths – Sarang Gosavi of Aseem Foundation,Pune,Alakagauri Joshi of Vivekananda Kendra,Arunachal Pradesh,Santosh Garje of Aai Foundation,Beed,Ajit Kulkarni of Anam Prem,Ahmednagar and Navin Gulia of Apni Duniya Apna Ashiana (Our World Our Home),Gurgaon – have been selected for the awards. The awards will be presented by Magsaysay Award winner Neelima Mishra at a function to be held at Balgandharv Rangmandir on November 3.

Construction workers gifted special uniforms

Kushal Express,an organisation exclusively dedicated to train construction workers,was inaugurated by MP Vandana Chavan at a function held at the construction site of Pride Valencia of Pride Bora Associates on Baner Road. The organisations like Nandan Buildcon,Pharande Spaces,Rama Group,CERA Sanitary Ware and Asia Tiles have pitched in with their contributions to start the Kushal Express,stated a press release. On the occasion,construction workers were gifted specially-designed uniforms that have pockets/slots to keep all the required tools and accessories. “The uniform increase workers’ efficiency. It gives them a sense of identity,pride and self-esteem,” said Chavan. “We have empowered workers and transformed them into respectable dignified construction workers,” said J P Shroff,chairman,Kushal Express. Credai president Satish Magar,K K Goyal,vice-chairman,Cosmos Bank,Anuj Bhandari,chairman,Labour Committee of Credai,and Arvind Jain of Pride Group,were also present.

Behera bags Life Time Achievement Award

RSB Group chairman R K Behera was conferred with Life Time Achievement Award by Dr D Y Patil,Governor of Tripura,at a function organised by Deccan Chamber of Commerce,Industries & Agriculture at Hyatt Regency recently. The award was received on his behalf by his son Rajnikant Behera,vice-president,Corporate Strategy & Finance. The award was conferred on Behera for his “extraordinary” journey of entrepreneurship that began in 1975 with a meager monetary help of Rs 15,000 from his father and nurtured RSB into a global engineering institution with 13 state-of-the-art manufacturing plants spread over seven locations in India,stated a press release.

Harbinger’s opens new facility in Hinjewadi

HARBINGER Group recently inaugurated its new facility at Blue Ridge,SEZ,Hinjewadi. The group has now three offices in Pune and two in the USA. “The facility at Blue Ridge has the best of amenities.
