Persistent Systems bags award for governance

Persistent Systems has been ranked one of the top five companies in India for adopting good corporate governance practices by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). The award was conferred at a ICSI award ceremony held in Hyderabad recently. This is the second year that Persistent Systems featured in the top five companies. The ICSI corporate governance award is considered one of the most prestigious in India and aims to recognise dynamic leadership. Vivek Sadhale,company secretary and head,legal and investor relations,Persistent Systems,said,“We are honoured to receive the ICSI certificate of recognition for our corporate governance practices. Persistent Systems has always taken great pride in ensuring accountability and transparency to enhance long term value of the company’s stakeholders.”

Bridgestone opens concept store

Bridgestone inaugurated its concept store “M/s N Mehta Wheels” in Pune recently. The store was inaugurated by H Tanigawa,MD,Bridgestone India Private Ltd. The concept store is an eco-friendly store which rely on safety and reliability,safety of customers and workers,reliability of products and transparency in operations. Tanigawa said the store is a unique retail concept which was introduced as part of the company’s aggressive expansion strategy. “This initiative will add a new dimension to the retailing of tyres in the region through our unique business model of environment-friendly safety and reliability norms that will be adhered to through our direct and indirect business operations.”

Tata Docomo launches new service

Tata Docomo recently announced the launch of music streaming service for its 3G pre-paid and post-paid customers across its circles in partnership with Hungama Mobile,the largest aggregator,developer,publisher and distributor of Bollywood and South Asian entertainment. This service enables Tata Docomo 3G customers to not only enjoy seamless streaming of music tracks without the hassle of downloading but also a wide variety of genres . Anand Iyer,chief operating officer,rest of Maharashtra,Tata Teleservices Maharashtra Limited,said “At Tata Docomo,it is our constant endeavour to introduce value-added services that enrich the lives of our customers.
