City-based Kutwal Foods private limited,a leading manufacturer of processed milk,has forayed into the fruit drinks segment by launching fruit drinks with multiple flavours. Under the brand name of U,three different flavours such as mango,pineapple and lemon are being introduced,which will be available in the Pet bottles of 250 ml,500 ml and 1 litre each,which will be priced at Rs 16,Rs 27 and Rs 55 respectively. We have created an all new state-of-the-art infrastructure for manufacturing the fruit drink at our existing manufacturing facility in Shirur Taluka of Pune District. It is a fully automated processing plant with an automatic blowing and high speed bottle filling machines. The plant is well equipped with ultra-modern laboratory for stringent quality checks and is managed by highly trained and experienced staff. We have invested Rs 5 crore in creating this facility,said Ram Kutwal,the director of Kutwal Foods. Getting into fruit drink segment is a logical extension to our existing business and we feel that fruit drink segment has great potential for growth in India, he added.
Thermax acquires steam division of Virgo
Thermax has acquired the steam division of Virgo Valves and Controls and its German subsidiary company Rifox-Hans Richter GmbH,a leading steam traps and allied steam accessories manufacturer. The acquisition was completed on March 21,at Rs 13.3 crore. Baermany,the core products of the company are different steam traps and vent valves with the highest pressure up to 250 kg and temperature of up to 530 degree centrigrade. The acquisition will bring the manufacturing facilities of Rifox-Virgo in Germany and in India. It offers a strategic fit for Thermaxs steam engineering business. The high brand value of Rifox in Europe,South-East Asia and the Middle East will help us in our selective internationalisation programme, M S Unnikrishnan,MD and CEO of Thermax said.

KPIT Cummins ,product engineering and IT consulting partner to global manufacturing corporations,has announced a priority customer agreement with city-based Innovize Tech Software,to deploy their patent-pending software product,”Sapience,” which is the automated productivity management solution designed to help firms boost output by over 20 per cent,thereby having an impact on revenues,profitability and customer satisfaction through resource optimization.
