With her newly launched book,Experiencing Tarot,author Dr Roopa Patel brings forward an urban consciousness to the study of tarot. Released on Thursday at Hyatt Regency the book presents her study on tarots undertaken in the past two decades. It explains how Tarot works,it’s history and how it connects to other new age sciences. The speaker of the event was Dr Farrukh Buchia,psychotherapist; visiting professor at several institutions,and also the founder of Natural Psychotherapy. Patel is also the Head of Arts and Business Relations at the British Council.
The Arangetram of Bharatnatyam students of Urvashi Kala Srishti will be held on June 10 at the Tilak Samarak Mandir,Sadashiv Peth,4.45 pm onwards. This is the first batch of students of this dance institute started by Urvashi Shrivastava. This dance institute was started in 2001 in Jodpur but moved to Pune in 2006. Shrivastava is an expert in three classical dance forms,Bharatnatyam,Kathak and Odissi and also holds a Ph D in Psychology. She combined her knowledge of dance and psychology to further understand the correlation between dance and a stress relief. Her personal project Stress Relief Dance tries to tie both these subjects. She is currently adjunct faculty at NDA,Maharishi University of management,Iowa USA.
After having been the face of MTV roadies over the last eight years MTV VJ and actor Rannvijay Singh will be in the city today. Scheduled to make an appearance at the Amanora Town Centre for the launch of the MTV Roadies footwear collection at Mochi Rannvijay will be interacting with fans in the evening five onwards. Singh shot to fame after winning the first season of MTV Roadies and hosting all the subsequent seasons,which went on to gain huge popularity. He has also hosted other shows on MTV like Stuntmania,Force India: The Fast and The Gorgeous and Splitsvilla while acting in films too. Singh will be at the East Block Atrium of the mall and in addition to interacting he will also be playing games giving people a chance to win prizes.
