Ambegaon Taluka Cricket Academy (ATCA) successfully defended a modest total of 126 to beat Ranjane Cricket Academy by 18 runs. The victory helped ATCA book the semi-final berth in the Influx Cricket Cup Under-12 tournament being played at ILS Law College ground.
The narrow win helped ATCA join Rajmata Jijau Krida Pratishthan (RJKP),Pharandes Cricket Academy and PYC Hindu Gymkhana in the semi-finals,which will be played on Tuesday. ATCA meets RJKP in the first semi-final,while Pharandes CA take on PYC in the second.
In the final league match of the tournament,Ambegaon scored 126 for 8 in 20 overs after being put in to bat. Roshan Pokharkar top scored with 34 runs,while Vivek Gaikwad (18) and Siddesh Indore (15) chipped in gamely.
Ranjane Cricket Academy began the chase in right earnest as the first-wicket pair of Abhishek Gavhane (27) and Kshitij Patil (31) put on 58 runs in 59 balls. But the team allowed the asking rate to climb rapidly,playing out too many dot balls.
In the first match of the day,SKF Cricket Academy defeated Ahirrao Cricket Academy by 62 runs.
In an inconsequential match,SKF scored 125 for 8 in 15 overs with Aryan Thube (22) and Mohit Sangade (22) putting on 65 runs for the first wicket.
Excellent bowling by Rohan Ovhal (2/8) and Sudev Shahane (2/9) helped SKF contain Ahirrao Cricket Academy at 63 for 8 in the allotted 15 overs.
