Air Marshal Kanakaraj visits 9 BRD

He interacted with all the officers, technicians, key personnel and evaluated the maintenance activities undertaken by the depot.

Air Marshal P Kanakaraj, the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), of the Maintenance Command of the Indian Air Force, visited the 9 Base Repair Depot (BRD), Pune, on Thursday.

On a three-day visit, this was Air Marshal’s first visit to the 9 BRD after taking over as AOC-in-C of the Maintenance Command. He was accompanied by his wife Usha Kanakaraj, the president of Air Force Wives Welfare Association (AFWWA) (Regional), Maintenance Command, IAF.

Kanakaraj and his wife were received by Air Commodore Sanjay Kumar, Air Officer Commanding, 9BRD AF and Indu Bala, president AFWWA (Local). He visited various work sites, production laboratories, logistics hangars and other vital installations.

He interacted with all the officers, technicians, civilians and key personnel of the depot and evaluated the maintenance activities undertaken by the depot, said a release issued by the PRO (Defence).

On Friday, the Air Marshal inaugurated the new Station Medicare Centre (SMC) building. The SMC will provide state-of-the-art medical facilities to all the Air Warriors and their family members. The Air Marshal also inaugurated Station Armory of the depot.
