AFMC Alumni meet today,Silhouettes-’12 to follow

The Armed Forces Medical College will host 400 alumni and their families as part of the golden jubilee year celebrations of its undergraduate wing and conduct a series of events from Thursday,which will conclude on Saturday.

The Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) will host 400 alumni and their families as part of the golden jubilee year celebrations of its undergraduate wing and conduct a series of events from Thursday,which will conclude on Saturday. However,the same day,the celebrations will enter a weeklong Undergraduate Wing festival,Silhouettes-2012,that will go on till February 24.

The alumni meet will host events ranging from slide shows unravelling the past,quiz,debate,musical evenings featuring rock bands,plays by theatre groups,scientific sessions,heritage walks,homage to departed colleagues and an airshow by paratroopers of the Army involving skydiving and para-motor show .

It will kick off with the prestigious All India Inter Medical Basketball Tournament,which regularly witness a keen display of sporting skills by teams from medical colleges all over India.

The other events on the cards are ‘kalaripayattu’,the martial art from Kerala,a performance by Sandip Soparkar and group,’Synanaesthesia’,a music competition of inter-college rock bands,a live concert by the Faridkot Channel (V) Launchpad winners and a bouquet of competitions ranging from clay modelling,cartoon making,sketching,body art,fashion show,Bike-stunts,inter-college quizzes,debating and much more.
