Saiprasad Kaimoni and Vipul Jeurkar put together 81 runs for the opening wicket as Mather and Platt scored a huge nine-wicket win against Axis Bank in the last Group C league match,in the ABIL Inter Corporate Cricket Champions Cup at the Deccan Gymkhana.
Chasing a modest target,Kaimoni and Jeurkar sent Axis Bank fielders on a leather hunt right from the start as Mather and Platt overhauled Axis Banks total in just 10.3 overs.
Electing to bat,Axis Bank scored 119 for six in the allotted 20 overs with Shankarlal Katke (38) and Kiran Ramayane (32 not out) being the only batsmen to put up decent scores.
For Mather and Platt,Kiran Bhosale (3/10) and Manish Desai (2/21) took majority of wickets to restrict Axis Bank to a low score.
Mather and Platt looked in a hurry from the start. Kaimoni scored runs at will as he hit 58 in just 25 balls with 10 fours and two sixes,while Jeurkar remained unbeaten on 44,scored off 31 balls and studded with five fours and three sixes. Their partnership of 81 runs came off 31 balls with Kaimoni attaining his 50 runs in just 19 balls.
In the second match of the day,Vistacore defeated Mahesh Bank by 11 runs in a match that could have gone either way. Electing to bat,Vistacore was propped up by first wicket partnership between Virag Awate and Amey Soman,who put 46 runs together in 27 balls. Awate scored 29 in 23 balls with five fours,while Soman chipped in with 25 off 15 balls hitting two fours and as many sixes.
Later on,Mohit Kapoor (37) and Shubham Nagawade (27) got together for the seventh-wicket stand to compile 58 runs off 39 balls as Vistacore posted 150 for nine in the allotted 20 overs.
In reply,Mahesh Bank banked on Amit Singh (39 ),Mandar Bhandari (28) and Manoj Shirole (24) but their efforts fell short by 11 runs.
