Four persons were seriously injured when two groups of local goons fought with each other with sharp weapons in Dapodi on Friday night following a dispute over a petty issue.

Four persons were seriously injured when two groups

of local goons fought with each other with sharp weapons in Dapodi on Friday night following a dispute over a petty issue. Police have denied any political angle to the dispute.

As per the information given by Bhosari police,the incident took place on Friday night around 10.15 pm near a wine shop on Pimple Gurav road in Dapodi.

Sub-inspector Trupti Sonavane,who headed the team that rushed to spot,said,“These are two local groups of goons which crossed

their ways on Saturday night. We have come to know that they started fighting when members from both groups bought liquor from a wine a shop.”

Two separate complaints have been registered in this regard. Sonavane added,“Members of the groups were carrying sharp weapons,swords and choppers. Govind Uppar and Satish Salunkhe from one group and Atul Barathe

and Sachin Nehre from the other group have sustained injuries.”

Police are yet to make arrests in the case.

When asked whether there was any political reason behind the fight,Sonavane said,“There is certainly no political angle to the fight. These groups fought over past rivalry.”
