24-year-old dies in road accident,friend sustains injuries

A 24--YEAR-OLD woman died in a road accident at Nashik Phata Friday night.

A 24–YEAR-OLD woman died in a road accident at Nashik Phata Friday night. Shalini Naveen Mishra was a management student and dancer. Shalini,who was on a bike with her friend,was hit by an ambulance.

The victim,a resident of Nigdi Pradhikaran,was on her way home with a friend,Ishan Rakeshkumar Gubor. Around 11 pm,the bike was hit by an ambulance.

The duo then fell off the bike. Mishra was then run over by a speeding container truck from behind.

Senior inspector Suresh Kekane of Bhosari police station said,“After the two fell down,Shalini was run over by a speeding container. She received very grievous injuries and died on the spot. Ishan has also received injuries and is currently being treated at a private hospital. He is out of danger.”

Ishan has registered a complaint.

Police are yet to identify the ambulance and have launched a search operation to nab the accused.

According to police,Shalini had completed a course in media studies and was currently pursuing a course in management in Mumbai. She was a trained dancer and had performed in several shows with reputed dance groups.
