22-yr-old MCA student dies as tempo hits bike

Pimpri police said the accident took place on the Morwadi-KSB Chowk road around 9.30 am.

A 22-year-old student pursuing his Masters in Computer Applications (MCA) died after his bike was hit by a tempo moving in wrong direction in a no-entry zone on Monday.

Aniket Ishwar Bharati,the deceased,lived in Sadashiv Peth. Pimpri police said the accident took place on the BMorwadi-KS Chowk road around 9.30 am.

Police said the tempo (MH 12 CD 1619) had entered the no-entry zone near the bungalow of PCMC commissioner where it hit the bike. Aniket fell off the two-wheeler and sustained severe injuries. He was rushed to hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

Police have arrested the tempo driver,Harshad Landge (27) of Chikhali. Aniket studied in a private institute in Pune and also did a part-time job at a private firm. Pimpri police are probing the case.
