2 students robbed at knife-point in Aundh

Two unidentified motorcyclists threatened two MBA students at knife point,forced them to withdraw Rs 1,000 from an ATM and decamped with their money and blackberry phones.

Two unidentified motorcyclists threatened two MBA students at knife point,forced them to withdraw Rs 1,000 from an ATM and decamped with their money and blackberry phones. The incident happened near McDonald’s on D P Road in Aundh around 8.45 am on Sunday.

Police have identified the victims as Sarthak Sanjay Agarwal (22) and Ranjan Giridhar (22),both residing at Prominent College hostel in Lavale. Agarwal lodged the complaint of robbery at Chatushrungi police station.

Police said Agarwal and Giridhar were on way to McDonald’s on Sunday. The two motorcycle-borne youths intercepted them and forced them to withdraw Rs 1,000 from a State Bank of India ATM. Later,the suspects decamped with money and their Blackberry phones.

The students reported the incident to the college registrar. After discussing the matter with college authorities,they registered a police complaint on Monday.

Police sub-inspector M N Walekar is investigating the case.
