Two more persons have been arrested in the firing incident that took place outside Shivajinagar Court on February 23. Some persons had opened fire on friend of a murder witness in Kamgar Putala slums. The two persons — Kuldeep Balasaheb Bandal from Ambegaon Pathar and Sharad Raghunath Pilane from Warje — were arrested on Friday.

Vijay Karke (35),an eye-witness in the 2008 murder case of MNS leader Sandeep alias Anna Bandal, was injured after unknown persons fired at him in Kamgar Putala slums outside the Shivajinagar Court. Karke has sustained a bullet injury. The alleged kingpin — Rohidas Ananta Chorge who is wanted in the murder of Sandeep alias Anna Bandal — is still absconding.

“The three persons who were earlier arrested on February 24 had revealed the names of these two accused. A search was launched for them and they were arrested on Friday,” cited the police remand application.

The duo were produced before a magistrate court on Saturday and were remanded to police custody till March 9. The earlier three accused — Ravindra Laxman Chavan,Sangram Dilip Gholap and Akshay alias Baba Kaluram Pavale — are already in police custody till March 5. These three are also accused in the Bandal murder case and were on bail.

However, the court had cancelled their bail on Friday,a day after the firing incident. “The attack is alleged to have been made by the accused with the help of higher links and Rohidas Ananta Chorge,” stated the court order.
