10 arrested for creating nuisance

Acting on a complaint from a senior citizen,the city police raided a house in Wallabh Co-operative Housing Society on Senapati Bapat Road and arrested 10 youths for allegedly creating nuisance under the influence of alcohol in the early hours of Wednesday.

Acting on a complaint from a senior citizen,the city police raided a house in Wallabh Co-operative Housing Society on Senapati Bapat Road and arrested 10 youths for allegedly creating nuisance under the influence of alcohol in the early hours of Wednesday.

The youths — identified as Siddharth Chopra (24),Prince Lama (24),Harsha Yogeshbhai (24),Mohit Joshi (26),Tushar Tiwari (20),Jaideep Vyas (20),Shivay Choudhary (21),Bhuvnesh Kalsan (20),Rakesh Jaiswal (27) and Jaideep Bharadwaj (21)—have been arrested under the relevant sections of Bombay Police Act.

Police said while some of them are students of a reputed college in the city,others are working professionals. They were also kept in the lock-up at Faraskhana.

They were produced before a magistrate court where police told the court that they had allegedly consumed liquor and were playing loud music at the society. Judicial Magistrate (first class) Y G Dube granted bail to the youths on furnishing a personal bond and cash security of Rs 15,000 each. Police said a complaint was registered at Chatushringi police station by Ravindra Purandare (65),a resident of the society. Around 1 am,Purandare made a call to the police control room and alleged that youths were playing loud music and causing nuisance.

A team from Chatushringi police station went to the society and arrested the youths. They reportedly told cops that they were only playing guitar and were not creating any nuisance.
