A 35-year-old woman, who was allegedly sexually assaulted with an iron rod the previous night, succumbed to her injuries on Thursday.  The woman, who hails from Naubatpur in Patna, was attacked Wednesday evening when she had left her house to defecate. The accused, following a failed attempt to rape her, allegedly inserted an iron rod in her private parts. She died after suffering from severe internal injuries and profuse bleeding.

Dhiraj Kumar, the accused, reportedly tried to overpower the victim at a deserted spot and rape her. When she resisted the attack, he allegedly picked up an abandoned iron rod and assaulted her. The accused has been arrested by the police.

“The woman managed to walk back to her home and was brought to the police station from where we sent her to Patna Medical College and Hospital. She died during treatment on Thursday,” police station in-charge Premraj Chouhan said.

The woman’s husband is a daily wage worker and the couple have four children. Her husband was not at home during the incident.

Sick , the best way to send a message to these monsters is not to torture the criminals we do manage to catch, but to build a justice system that inspires fear out of its sheer ruthless efficiency. The government resorting to temporary "band-aid" measures to appease those baying for blood will not prevent rape crimes. Rape has become so rampant that something drastic has to be done. Rapists and terrorists should be treated to the same fate.

What is the matter with you shameless Indian men? First of all leave the women alone, stop cuting them. Secondly build toilets on you homes for the safety and comfort of your family. Shoe some signs of progress!

India should kill rapists and excessive men to balance gender ratio.
