In a jolt to the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), party’s councillor from ward number 19 Naresh Kumar on Sunday joined the Congress along with his supporters in the presence of former Union minister Pawan Kumar Bansal and city Congress chief Pradeep Chhabra.

Chhabra welcomed Naresh Kumar and assured him to give due respect in the party. He said that Naresh always helped party in the MC house.

Bansal also welcomed Naresh Kumar and accused the BJP of putting pressure on the administration to increase the number of wards, as the party is fearing defeat.

Bansal said the Congress will win the municipal elections.

Bansal also praised the NSUI candidates and said they will win the elections of the university.

Senior Congress leader Harish Chaudhary slammed MP Kirron Kher for remaining absent from the city and slow pace of development works.
