The enforcement wing of the Municipal Corporation has closed the area in front of the New Secretariat Haryana where employees and visitors would park their cars.

For, the civic body has asked everybody to park their vehicles at the multilevel parking.

Employees, on the other hand stated that it was not feasible for them to park their vehicles at a far off distance as the multilevel was nearly at the other end of the sector.

“Around 80-100 cars were daily being parked there. We even got calls from people to open it as they said it was not feasible for them to park at Multilevel but when we have got orders to close it so we cant do anything,” said a senior official of the enforcement wing.

Sources said that a sub inspector of the enforcement wing has been deployed from 8 am to 4 pm to see that nobody parks wrongly.

“When they have an underground level parking in their premises why were they parking here,” added the official.

Sources said that some of them were even parking their vehicles near the fire station now.

The employees even met the Commissioner MC regarding the issue, citing difficulty in parking their vehicles at multilevel which according to them was quite far off.

The civic body has been enforcing it to run their Multilevel parking lot in Sector 17.

It has been nearly a month and the civic body has failed to float the tenders to run the firm. When the multilevel parking was shut on August 9, the officials had claimed that the tender documentation was complete but the tenders were not floated later on. After the parking was shut, the civic body decided to run the lot on its own after it faced criticism.

They have been challaning the wrongly parked vehicles too to run the multilevel parking lot.
