Yadav stars in shootout for Thakur Vidyamandir

The game between Don Bosco – Matunga and ANZA was also decided on a penalty shootout as the game ended 2-2

Goalkeeper Suraj Yadav starred in the penalty shootout to earn his Thakur Vidyamandir (TVM) side a slot in the quarterfinals of the Division III MSSA-Mumbai Indians Annual Inter School Football Tournament,held at the MSSA Castrol Schools Sports Centre. The match between TVM and Infant Jesus ended in a 2-2 draw,and required the penalty shootout to decide the winner. Yadav stole the show as he saved three of Infant Jesus’ allotted five kicks to give his side a 3-1 win in the tiebreaker.

The game between Don Bosco – Matunga and ANZA was also decided on a penalty shootout as the game ended 2-2. The Matunga based team beat their opponents 3-2 in the shootout to progress to the final eight of the tournament.

In other matches,Sacred Heart and Swami Vivekanand had to work hard for their wins against Jamnabai Narsee School and Victoria High School respectively. Activity High School had to hold on for their 2-1 win against Rustomjee International. Meanwhile St. Andrew’s cruised to a 3-0 win against G.D Somani.
