Leader of Opposition in Assembly Eknath Khadse has sought to know why the CBI did not name all ministers who handled files related to the Adarsh Cooperative Housing Society in its first information report filed on Saturday.

He said they had not received any official information regarding the FIR registered against 13 persons, including former bureaucrats. “I’m talking on the basis of what appeared in the media. If Ashok Chavan has been named by the CBI,why have other ministers like Vilasrao Deshmukh who have handled the file not been named.”

The CBI has been conducting a preliminary inquiry into the Adarsh scam and had sought papers related to the society from the government. Recently,a High Court bench had questioned the CBI as to why a FIR had not yet been filed in the matter.

Khadse said the CBI should state clearly what aspects regarding Adarsh had been investigated and whether it was only looking at violation of the Central laws. “I am not making a particular demand as we have been told that things will be clear by Tuesday. It is only a couple of days away. We can wait till then to get a clearer picture.”
