Tiger’s Outing

On Thursday morning,Salman Khan did the unexpected. He turned up on time for the launch of his upcoming film Ek Tha Tiger’s song, titled Mashallah,at Mumbai’s popular single screen theatre,Gaiety. The actor, who was mourning Dara Singh’s demise, remained calm as he fielded the usual volley of questions about his relationship status with the film’s leading lady,Katrina Kaif. However, when Kaif was quizzed about her recent on-screen appearances as item girl for Bodyguard and Agneepath,Khan stepped in. “Katrina is extremely talented, but does item songs for friends,” he answered.

Double Gain

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s loss is other filmmakers’ gain. This is the message Kareena Kapoor seems intent on passing on to Bhansali. After she reportedly walked out of Ram Leela, following the director’s issues with her wedding dates,Kapoor has reportedly signed on two other films. One is Punit Malhotra’s next with Imran Khan and the other is Prakash Jha’s next,an untitled political thriller. Kapoor is paired opposite Ajay Devgn, with whom she was last seen in Omkara and who is said to have recommended her for the role. Kapoor,it is said, will play the prime minister of India. After Katrina Kaif’s dismal performance as a politician in Jha’s Raajneeti, one hopes that Kapoor will put up a better act and Jha will not object to her marital status.
