Citizens will have to brace for water cuts on two days early next week as the civic administration will undertake the work of connecting new water mains to the existing pipelines to improve supply in the city.

While there will be a 100 per cent cut in Nahur (East),Bhandup (East),Kanjurmarg (East) and Vikhroli (East),the BMC will impose a 40 per cent cut in Chembur,Ghatkopar and Mulund on Monday and Tuesday. The rest of the city will face a 20 per cent cut, said a civic official.

“Those living on upper floors and at the fag end of the suburbs will be affected more due to very low pressure,” said an official from the hydraulic engineers department.

The BMC will impose cuts across the city as it is connecting the newly laid 3,000-mm pipelines with the existing old trunk mains along the Eastern Express Highway from Airoli to Kannamwar Nagar in Vikhroli.
