Watchman held for robbing beautician

Juhu Police arrested Saturday a watchman for allegedly robbing a beautician with two aides.

Juhu Police arrested Saturday a watchman for allegedly robbing a beautician with two aides. Sonal Shah (45) was locking the door to her flat in Cool Breeze Building,Juhu,last week when the three pushed her in,bound and gagged her and decamped with cash and valuables.

The loss was Rs 4.9 lakh. Cool Breeze Building watchman Lalbahadur Saud became the immediate suspect as he disappeared soon after the robbery.

It later came to light that Devbahadur Saud,a watchman at a building in D N Nagar and friend of Lalbahahdur,was also missing. Police started tracking their cell phones.

“Devbahadur was picked up from Andheri Friday and arrested Saturday. He has been remanded in police custody till April 15. He claimed the plan was hatched by Lalbahadur. He knew husband and daughter of Shah would be out in the afternoon and decided to cash in,” said a police officer.

The officer said Devbahadur and Lalbahadur were Nepal natives. “We are trying to identify the third accused,” he said.
