Vig brace upsets Don Bosco

Hiranandani Foundation Powai's Shaurya Vig scored twice in his team's 3-0 win to upset Don Bosco Matunga in their under-14 second division match of the MSSA Inter School Football Tournament,at the Azad Maidan.

Hiranandani Foundation Powai’s Shaurya Vig scored twice in his team’s 3-0 win to upset Don Bosco Matunga in their under-14 second division match of the MSSA Inter School Football Tournament,at the Azad Maidan. Pratul Mann scored the third in the rout. In other second division under-14 games,St Mary’s SSC and Army Public School beat Holy Name and St. Xavier’s Bhandup resptively through 1-0 wins,and Colaba Municipal outplayed Bombay Internationl 2-0. In the girl under-16 league,Dhirubhai Ambani International thumped Hiranandani Foundation 5-0 through braces from Saachi Munot and Manushi Asher,and a single goal from Satvi Kumar. J.B Petit and Jamnabai Narsee School played out a 1-1 draw and St. Lawrence from Borivali outclassed St. Thomas from Goregaon 4-0.

Sahasrabudhe upsets Parte

Fourth seeded Pooja Sahasrabudhe upset third seed Shweta Parte in the women singles final of the 4th State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament,at the Dombivili Gymkhana. Sahasrabudhe’s 3-4 in the final came after upsetting the first seed Madhurika Patkar in the semifinals. In the men’s singles finals,third seed Noel Pinto brushed past ninth seed Omkar Torgalkar in straight sets. In the youth boys and girls (under 21) category,Nishaad Shah beat Siddhesh Pande and Shweta Parte beat Mallika Bhandarkar respectively. In the junior boys and girls singles (under 18),Sanish Ambekar beat Ravindra Kotiyan in the boys category while seventh seed Shruti Amrute upset top seed Manasi Chajed.
