Two men open fire at construction site,flee with cash and valuables

Two unidentified persons fired a single round at a construction site in Navi Mumai’s Ulwe area on Tuesday and escaped with Rs 1,500 cash,a mobile phone and a gold chain from the supervisor.

Two unidentified persons fired a single round at a construction site in Navi Mumai’s Ulwe area on Tuesday and escaped with Rs 1,500 cash,a mobile phone and a gold chain from the supervisor.

The incident took place around 11.45 am at the Riddhi Siddhi Builder’s construction site in Ulwe’s sector 19 area. After forcing the supervisor to hand over the valuables,the accused escaped on a motorcycle.

Police sources said the duo had come to extort money from the supervisor. When the supervisor refused,they fired a round in the air to threaten him.

“They threatened the supervisor and asked him to hand over all the money. They took Rs 1,500,along with his chain and mobile phone and escaped on their Bajaj Pulsar,” said an officer from the NRI police station.

Navi Mumbai’s Additional Commissioner of Police,Ashok Dongre,said teams have been formed to nab the accused. “We have formed teams to nab the accused. We are also preparing their sketches,” he said.
