The Mumbai Police Crime Branch has recorded confessional statements of two of the 10 accused who were arrested earlier this month for allegedly plotting to kill a Bollywood producer-director. Meanwhile, the Crime Branch has also invoked the MCOCA against the six accused of firing outside producer Karim Morani’s Juhu residence in July this year.

In a three-day operation in November, the Crime Branch had busted a module of 13 men allegedly recruited by a fugitive criminal. Ten of these men were allegedly tasked with killing the producer-director, and three of the 10 men, along with three others, were allegedly involved in the firing outside Morani’s bungalow.

“Confessional statements from two accused were taken by a Deputy Commissioner of Police as per MCOCA procedure,” said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sadanand Date. The police said that the fugitive, who was wanted in both the cases, had 10 chargesheets against him.
