Two arrested with four country-made weapons

Two persons were arrested by the Unit 12 of the Mumbai Police Crime Branch on Saturday for possessing four country-made weapons and seven live rounds of ammunition.

Two persons were arrested by the Unit 12 of the Mumbai Police Crime Branch on Saturday for possessing four country-made weapons and seven live rounds of ammunition. Police said Hanuman Mishra (33) and Lakhan Gupta (24) are residents of Hamidpur district in UP. Officers said they had received information that weapons were being brought into the city from Vapi in Gujarat. “Inspection of their bags revealed that they were carrying two country-made pistols,two country-made single-bore weapons and seven live rounds of ammunition,” said Ambadas Pote,Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detection). The duo has been booked under several Sections of the Arms Act,Pote said.
