After a six-month-long legal battle,Mumbai Police Commissioner Satyapal Singh has reinstated Fulsing Pawar as the senior inspector of Mulund police station.

Pawar’s predecessor Jivajirao Jadhav had challenged the police chief’s decision to transfer him as assistant commissioner of police in special branch in May this year, first in Maharashtra Administrative

Tribunal (MAT) and then in the Bombay High Court.

Jadhav had obtained a stay from MAT claiming he had been transferred before completing his three-year term and continued to attend office. In August,MAT threw out his application on the grounds that he couldn’t contest the promotion, but he immediately obtained a stay order from the HC.

In the meantime,Pawar was temporarily transferred to Bandra police station.

“The HC finally heard the matter on November 22 and quashed Jadhav’s writ petition,” said advocate Ravi Shetty, who appeared for Singh. On Tuesday (December 17),Singh issued the order reinstating Pawar at Mulund police station.

“I am happy to finally begin work at Mulund after the legal battle,” said Pawar, who resumed charge on Wednesday.
