Three held for manufacturing ‘fake toddy’

Three people were arrested for allegedly manufacturing ‘fake toddy’ laced with chloral hydrate, after the excise department raided a Satara factory on Thursday. On November 7, the department arrested Santosh Guttedar in Pune, allegedly transporting fake toddy. Excise officials traced it to a factory in Satara, where they seized five tonne of chloral hydrate valued at Rs 30 lakh. Satara natives Milind Ghadge (46) and Hanumant Nalawade (38) and Mumbai resident Prakash Gopnani (33), were arrested there, said officials.
