Teen arrested for killing labourer

A 19-year-old employee of a toddy shop was arrested on Saturday for allegedly killing a labourer.

A 19-year-old employee of a toddy shop was arrested on Saturday for allegedly killing a labourer. According to the police,the victim, Anil Shantaram Shinde,had got into an argument with the suspect,Santosh Chavan at the toddy shop in Nashik Phata. Shinde was a resident of Shinde Chawl in Kasarwadi. He was a regular at the licensed toddy shop,the police said. Assistant inspector Prabhakar Pawar of Bhosari police said,“On Friday,Shinde went to the shop and consumed around six bottles of toddy. An inebriated Shinde then broke some bottles and damaged property of the shop. He returned on Saturday,asking for his wallet and money.” Eyewitnesses said Chavan pushed Shinde,who fell suffered a head injury,police said.
