Tata Sports Club and Indian Oil scored contrasting wins in their last league encounters at the Dr D Y Patil Stadium,Nerul on Tuesday to make their way into the quarter-finals,where they will face each other in the 8th All-India Dr. D Y Patil T20 Cricket Tournament.

All round performances from Usman Malvi and Sujit Nayak – who shone with ball and bat – ensured a narrow six run win for Tata SC over State Bank of Hyderabad and a passage into the round of eight along with D Y Patil. Indian Oil overhauled CBEC’s total of 133 all out with seven wickets to spare to maintain their unbeaten run in the league stage and take their spot in the quarter-finals. Batting first,Tata SC could only manage 149 for 8 in their 20 overs.

Blistering unbeaten half-centuries from Abhishek Thorat and Pawan Pandey helped Shardashram Vidyamandir English,Dadar beat Balmohan Vidyamandir by 10 wickets in the first match of Mumbai Leg of the Coca-Cola Cup Inter-School Cricket Tournament at Cross Maidan on Tuesday.
