The Maharashtra State Commission for Women has directed the party high commands to take strict action against a BJP MLA, two Shiv Sena corporators from Nashik and another from Kalyan, and other BJP party workers for allegedly causing public humiliation and defamation to a BJP corporator in the Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation and her son.

According to the complainant, on April 24, due to a personal tiff with the complainant, BJP MLA Rajendra Chauhan, along with party workers, had tried to defame her by giving false statements to the media about her abduction by lodging a ‘missing’ complaint against her. The complainant also alleged that Chauhan had circulated derogatory comments to cause her humiliation at the workplace and made false allegations of corruption to tarnish her public image. On April 25, according to the complainant, two Shiv Sena corporators from Nashik Ajay Boraste and D G Suryanvanshi had abducted her son Pratik (19) and forced him to lodge a missing complaint against his mother.

The enquiry committee consisting Advocate Flavia Agnes and advocate Nilanjana Shah members of the MSCW had found that the allegations against Chauhan, Boraste, Suryavanshi, and other party workers of BJP “have been sufficiently proved by oral and documentary evidence.”
