A Spanish national,who was allegedly raped in November last year while she was in the city,on Thursday identified the accused while deposing before a sessions court through a video-link.
The deposition lasted nearly an-hour-and-a-half,according to special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam.
The victim,who was present at the Indian consulate in Berlin,described the incident in detail,supporting the prosecutions theory.
The victim,who had rented a house at Bandra,was allegedly raped by an alleged habitual offender,Anwar Mohammed Ansari (28),a resident of Wadala. The woman told the court that Ansari raped her at knife point and committed robbery in her flat. Ansari kept demanding cash,the victim told the court. She also identified items that were seized from the crime scene.
Composed through the proceedings,the victim answered the questions asked by the prosecution and the defence lawyers. We concluded her testimony, said Nikam.
