Real estate developer arrested for unauthorised beacon on car

A real estate developer from Navi Mumbai was arrested by Navghar police for allegedly using an unauthorised amber beacon on his car.

A real estate developer from Navi Mumbai was arrested by Navghar police for allegedly using an unauthorised amber beacon on his car.

Police identified the accused as Kantilal Bhanushali (42),a resident of Airoli. Traffic personnel spotted the beacon on his car at the Airoli toll naka in Mulund and asked him to pull over. When questioned about the beacon,he tried to pass himself off as a politician’s aide but as he could not prove his claim,police said.

“Bhanushali would fix the beacon on his car whenever he came to Mumbai to avoid being pulled over and to get easy parking ,” said inspector Abhay Dhuri.

“Bhanushali said he bought the beacon at Kurla Chor Bazaar a few months ago ,” Dhuri said.

Bhanushali was arrested and charged under section 171 of the Indian Penal Code. He was later released on bail,police said.
