Podar College’s Abhishek Rajadhyaksha stole the limelight with a century against Ruparel College on Day One of the inter-collegiate cricket tournament final for the Saqib Rizvi Memorial Trophy,at the MIG Cricket Club on Wednesday.

Podar College’s Abhishek Rajadhyaksha stole the limelight with a century against Ruparel College on Day One of the inter-collegiate cricket tournament final for the Saqib Rizvi Memorial Trophy,at the MIG Cricket Club on Wednesday. Rajadhyaksha scored a brilliant 101 to help Podar score 329 for five in 95 overs. Mayur Sanap (11) and Pranav Menon (7) were unbeaten at the crease. Batting first,Podar started off well with the openers —Rajadhyasha and Vaidik Murkar (51) — getting 120-run for the first wicket. Rajadhyaksha,playing on his home ground,went to score a century with 15 boundaries. He was dismissed by medium pacer Sachin Yadav for 101. Shreyas Iyer was the other notable performer with 67.

A half-century by captain Sandesh Paralkar (70) and three wickets by left-arm seamer Bala Shirke were the highlights of MIG’s win in teh Mahim-Dadar tournament. Hosts MIG Cricket Club will meet Maskati Cricket Club in the 45-overs final. Maskati defeated Star Cricket Club,Bandra by 46 runs while MIG beat Sports Promotion Group by 76 runs. Half centuries by Akash Saraswat (51),Rohan Randheria (92),Sushant Vaze (60) and a three wicket haul by Anish Mistri and Akram Khan were features of Maskati’s victory over Star C.C,Bandra.
