Prepaid taxi stand inaugurated at CST

The Regional Transport Office on Thursday inaugurated the city's fifth prepaid taxi stand for outstation railway commuters at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus.

The Regional Transport Office (RTO) on Thursday inaugurated the city’s fifth prepaid taxi stand for outstation railway commuters at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus.

The first four were launched in the preceding months at Bombay Central station,Bandra Terminus,Dadar and Kurla.

The taxis will ply to anywhere in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and the fare would be 40 per cent higher than the usual fare for short distances and 20 per cent for long distances.

Transport Secretary Shailesh Kumar Sharma said the RTO was also planning to introduce prepaid autorickshaw stands at crucial stations soon.
