Three Ulhasnagar police teams are looking in Mumbai,Navi Mumbai and Thane for snacks vendor Ajit Talreja (26),who threw hot oil on his girlfriend Neetu Jaisinghani Saturday evening after she called off their marriage.

Police said Neetu withdrew as Ajit,an addict, was not ready to kick his bad habits.

Saturday evening,Talreja allegedly boiled oil at his vada-pav stall in Ulhasnagar, went to the clinic where Neetu works and threw it on her. The oil fell on Neetu’s as well as her friend’s face. Both sustained 12 per cent burns and are recuperating at a hospital in Ulhasnagar. “We have sent three teams to the residences of his friends and relatives and all of them are being questioned,” said a police officer.
