Three weeks after a partial human face was found on a train at Wadi Bunder railway yard, the police have zeroed in on eight people, including a ticket collector, who according to railway records travelled in the coach S6 of the Varanasi-Mumbai Holiday Special train.

The Dongri police station has written to the Varanasi railway station, asking for the addresses of the people, as well as the CCTV footage of passengers entering the train on May 10.

A cleaner found the partial face in the coach and informed the police. Officers found bloodstains on the door and windows of the coach. The police have been unable to identify the deceased.

Police officers are confident that the seven passengers and the TC hold the key to identifying the victim. “We have a copy of the reservation list.

It shows that the seats were booked on the name of three women and four men,” said Assistant Inspector Anand Rewandkar of  Dongri police station.
