Following the acquittal of four men in a bomb blast case at a mosque in Parbhani in August, an appeal has been filed before the Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court. The criminal revision petition was filed by Hafeez Abdul Qadir, the original complainant in the case and Imam of Mohammadiya Masjid, where the blast took place in 2003. One of the accused acquitted in the case is Rakesh Dhawade, currently an undertrial in the Malegaon 2008 blasts case. The appeal filed through Jamiat Ulama-E-Maharashtra said the prosecution agency did not conduct the trial ‘fairly’ and ‘suppressed crucial evidence’.
